Printing PDF documents that have been locked

PDF documents that have been locked from printing have probably been done so for a good reason – whether its published materials such as textbooks or magazines to reference books. That’s not to say that printing is impossible however, read on for a short and simple method to print pdf documents that have been print locked using Google documents.

The following document has been print locked, and the print option is grayed out

Simply upload the document of interest onto Google drive with the following checked options:

1) Convert documents, presentations, spreadsheets, and drawings to the corresponding Google Docs format
2) Convert text from PDF and image files to Google Documents

Open the document once the upload is complete, and viola, you can print through the Google Docs editor.

And there you have it, a simple way of bypassing the Adobe Acrobat print security. Do note however, that this method can only allow the printing of files up to 2MB in size, given the current upload/conversion limitations of Google Docs.
